Hello! My name is Danyell Alger. This is my fifteenth year teaching, however it it my first year teaching fourth grade at Lincoln Elementary. I moved here this summer from Wisconsin with my son and dog to join my husband, daughter and other dog whom had been living here for the past year. I am absolutely in love with Idaho and am so happy to be here. I am even more happy to have my family all back together under the same roof. My husband and I have fun playing yard volley ball with the teenagers but also enjoy going on long hikes with just the dogs. I recharge my batteries by kayaking alone in the beautiful canyons around here. I completed my undergraduate degree at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin and earned my masters degree at Rockford University in Rockford, Illinois. My favorite subject to teach is Spanish because I love teaching people to connect with others in a meaningful way that will enrich not only their lives but also the lives of all the new people they will be able to connect with. One of my favorite quotes: “To have another language is to possess a second soul.” ~Charlemagne I consider myself a “language dabbler” because I find great pleasure in being able to connect with people especially through their native language. The only language I am fluent in besides English is Spanish but I know a decent amount of German, some Japanese and a smattering of words in few other languages. I guess you could say my favorite subject to teach is people, but also because I love to learn from people. My favorite part about being a teacher at Lincoln is being part of an amazing staff that pours their hearts into doing great things for great kids! P.S. My other favorite quote is “You can’t control the wind, but you can adjust the sails.” ~author unknown. Thank you for welcoming me to the Lincoln family!
