"If you give a child a book" was a huge success. The kids loved selecting 5 new books for free. Mrs. Emery works hard to make this a special event. A big thanks to Mrs. Valentiner for explaining what a valuable gift this was for our students.
Make sure to send off Ms. Connie and Ms. Pav with lots of appreciation. The 2 of them have about 60 years experience combined in education. They have both decided to retire. They really take the cake for the work that they do at Lincoln. We wish them the best.

Ms. Amanda just recently graduated from CSI. We are so proud of her. We asked her to lead the Canyon Ridge and Magic Valley High School graduates on their parade through Lincoln. Some of our students walked with siblings who are graduating and some of our staff walked with their kids! Congratulations everyone.

Lincoln's Field Day was a hit with our kids! We all had so much fun! Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped out! We ROCK!

Also, have you returned your library books?

Lincoln’s PTO has been busy making history. They organized many activities for Engage in Education. They had a Declaration of Appreciation to share 250 things that attendees appreciate about Lincoln Elementary School. Additionally, there was a hopscotch board illustrated by the students to depict the 250 year time line of education. Hopscotch was selected to be a part of the display since it has been around since the before the beginning of American education. However, the stars of the night were the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution.

Once upon a time, we had around 50 more library books at Lincoln. The students loved the books so much that they tried to keep them hidden away in their own castles. Hopefully their families will ride in and return them for students of the future to enjoy. (Translation- please help us locate the last 50, overdue books.)

Wow, what a fun night! Lincoln's PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) rocks! We would like to thank all of the families who attended. Thank you Miss T. for the amazing musical performances by our talented 4th and 5th grade musicians. Thank you staff for your help setting-up, monitoring, and cleaning- up this event. Thank you Mr. Adam and Ms. Jennifer for taking care of the set-up and clean-up. Thank you ICCU for bringing such fun activities and prizes to share with our families. Thank you D.J. Tony for setting the tone for the event. Thank you to Glazed Over, Creative Cravings, and Tacos El Guey for serving delicious foods and making donations to support our PTO. Thank you Theo Morrison for bringing the Lincoln Lion to life. As we go into next school year, watch for ways to be a part of the PTO. You can donate your time, ideas, and or services to continue to make sure that Lincoln Rocks!

Mysterious signs have recently been appearing throughout the halls of Lincoln. About 100 books are missing from the library. Please be on the lookout for them. If you find any Lincoln Elementary School library books please return them immediately. Thank you for your assistance.

May 11th-13th our students will participate in a Scholastic Book Fair, made possible through the generous donations from the Scripps Stations KIVI and KSAW, employees and viewers. Each student will be given the opportunity to choose five books for free, thanks to the Scripps Howard Fund’s, “If You Give a Child a Book,” campaign. We are so grateful for this opportunity. Thank you to those who made it possible.

Happy Mother's Day!

Lincoln’s annual Battle of the Books was organized and hosted by Mrs. Emery, the school librarian. The audience was composed of fourth and fifth graders who watched selected 5th graders compete in the Battle of the Books. The participants answered questions about books that they had read during the school year. Mrs. Wilson’s class won the battle - congratulations to them. All the participants were awarded a 3-D, golden lion courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Nickerson.

Lincoln had their last “PTOh, Baby” meeting of this school year. They had a surprise baby shower for the President of PTO. She was tickled pink. This organization worked hard and supported the students and staff throughout the year. They were a major asset in making Lincoln’s Engage in Education table shine, and they planned fun things for Teacher Appreciation Week. A special thanks to all of the families who sent in goodies for the Teacher Trail Mix. PTO's last event of the year will be their upcoming Block Party.
