The Twin Falls School District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Nancy Murphy as the District’s new Elementary Programs Director for the 2025-26 school year during a special board meeting on February 14 at 1 p.m. Murphy will replace Wendy Ohlensehlen, who is transitioning into the Secondary Programs Director position.
The Director of Elementary Programs provides leadership in the development, implementation, and improvement of kindergarten-5th grade instructional programs to enhance student learning. This role supports curriculum alignment, staff development, assessment strategies, and program initiatives to ensure high-quality education across the district’s elementary schools.
Nancy Murphy currently serves as the principal at Pillar Falls Elementary School, a role she has held since the school opened in 2016. Prior to this, Murphy was an associate principal at Sawtooth and Perrine Elementary Schools. A long-time educator, Nancy has worked in Twin Falls as an instructional coach and first grade teacher at Oregon Trail. Prior to joining the TFSD, Nancy taught kindergarten, first, and second grades in South Carolina, second grade in Utah, and fourth and second grades in Filer.
Nancy graduated from the University of Utah with a teaching degree in 1999 and holds master's degrees from both Utah State and Idaho State. Murphy also received an Education Specialist degree from Boise State University in 2021.
“I am very excited to take on this new role,” said Murphy. “ I am looking forward to leading our elementary team as we strive to provide our students with the best education possible. I plan to build upon the progress already made by our schools and make each of our elementary schools a supportive and effective learning environment for all students.”
